When I visited Cincinnati for the first time a few years ago I was told that I could not go to Cincinnati and not try out Graeter’s. My first experience there was with my cousin who suggested I sample a few flavors before deciding which one to get but raspberry chip is the flavor that they are famous for. After trying a few flavors I tried their famous raspberry chip and was hooked to the point of me craving it when I was home in Brooklyn a few weeks later. As previously mentioned in past posts, I used to work at whole foods, the day that I realized that we sold Graeter’s was a day to remember for sure. Let me tell you a little about it…. A customer asked me where a specific dairy free ice cream was located so I walked her over to the section of the freezer and as I was looking I saw It…..in the top right corner of the ice cream display…..GRAETER’S RASPBERRY CHIP ICE CREAM! Seeing as I was helping a customer I could not freak out in the way that I wanted to so I continued on with my customer until she was satisfied and walked away. After my customer left I stepped up on the bottom of the freezer so I could reach what I thought HAD to be a mirage since Graeter’s is only sold regionally, but there it was right here in Brooklyn. What is so special about this ice cream you may ask? Greater’s has HUGE chunks of dark chocolate in their ice cream…HUGE.. Besides the fabulous and massive chocolate , the ice cream itself is rich creamy and extremely flavorful. Now that Graeter’s has made its way to the east cost everyone who has never had the honor of trying it can finally see what all of the fuss is all about. Check your local whole foods or check Graeter’s web site to see if it is sold locally, I recommend the raspberry chip but you choose whatever your heart desires and get ready for a delicious treat!
